Dealing with make up is sometimes the last thing we women want do when its hot and humid in the summer months, but lets face it…many of us have to. With a few simple switches to your regular regime you can have a soft beautiful summer look that doesn’t slide off your face! The first place you may need to make some changes is in your skin care system. A stronger cleanser and toner or a lighter moisturizer may be warranted. As far as color and make up goes, I recommend the following to my clients:

1. Use a Tinted Moisturizer instead of a heavy weight foundation. They give less coverage then the traditional foundations do but when set with a Mineral Make up powder give a beautiful, natural looking coverage that absorbs oil and has all the sun protection you need during the summer months.

2. Dust a Mineral Make-up Foundation powder on top of the tinted moisturizer to set it & absorb the extra oil and sweat the humidity in the air brings about. Mineral Make-up is the new rage! The colors are sheer , soft & natural looking and leave your skin glowing!

3. Dust a Bronzing Powder over your skin anywhere the sun would naturally tan you. Across the forehead, down the bridge of the nose, across the cheeks & chin and over the décolleté & shoulders.

4. Waterproof Mascara! This will prevent the running that can happen when you heat up or get wet. A fabulous trick of the trade is to use two mascaras if a waterproof formula doesn’t give you the length and volume that your favorite mascara does (if you don‘t have a mascara that you absolutely love so much you could never live with out it, call me immediately for a free sample of my Ultimate Mascara). First apply your usual mascara, let it dry for a minute but not all the way then apply a coat of the waterproof formula over it.

5. Lip Gloss and go! Five simple steps to a beautiful look that can stand up to the summer heat. Your skin will be radiant and glowing and it won’t even look like you are wearing make-up!
