Saugus author Tom Sheehan, co-editor with John Burns and Bob Wentworth on two Saugus books, A Gathering of Memories and Of Time and the River, has had his story, “Too Much Asia to Wipe Off,” named as a Notable Story for the prestigious 2007 Million Writers list. The story originally appeared in Word Riot, an Internet site with world class writers participating.

This story will be included in Sheehan’s short story collection, From the Quickening, due for publication in the spring of 2009 by Pocol Press of Clifton, Virginia, which published his memoirs, A Collection of Friends. This book had a photo cover by Saugus photographer Jim Harrington and was nominated for the Aldren Memoir Award.

Sheehan’s Brief Cases, Short Spans, also a short story collection, with a cover painting by Saugus-Lynn artist Jeff Fiovaranti, will be issued in the fall of 2008 by Press 53 of North Carolina. They earlier published his book, Epic Cures, which won an IPPY Award from Independent Publishers and which also had a cover painting by Fiovaranti.
