To the Editor,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people who helped make the February 5, 2008 Presidential Primary Election run as smoothly as it did. The success of the election is a great reflection of the cooperation, determination, and hard work of many employees of the Town of Saugus, as well as the hospitality of the schools and private facilities, allowing us to graciously use their buildings as polling locations.
I would be amiss if I didn’t acknowledge my appreciation for the hard work and integrity of the dedicated poll workers who always work so hard on behalf of all of us.
My gratitude goes out to the Board of Registrars, Chairman, Gary Butt, Daniel Berg and Jennifer Smith, who consistently and professionally assist in the process of running successful elections.
Last, but certainly not least, I want to thank my great staff, Election Coordinator Patricia Flickinger and Assistant Town Clerk, Marianne Moses. In order to appreciate how much work goes into running a successful election, you must understand how many endless hours of arduous work my staff goes through to make it all possible.
Without Patti, Marianne, and many other dedicated Town of Saugus employees, the accomplishments and the success of the very important task of running elections for the voters of Saugus would not be possible. Once again, my heart felt thanks to all.
Sincerely, Joanne D. Rappa, Town Clerk
